THE SCHOOL AND ITS FACILITIES

Stretham is a full primary school (Foundation to Year 6) with approximately 150 pupils.

The school building dates from 1978 and is of single storey construction. A growth in numbers of pupils created the need to extend the buildings, with the result that new hall, administration block and classrooms were opened in spring 2000. The school now has seven classroom bases and a resource area with computer facilities.

The school has a kitchen on site where the children's lunches are prepared.

Outside there is a playground, grassed play areas and a playing field. The school is fortunate in having its own outdoor swimming pool. A wildlife area with a pond has been developed in the school grounds, and there is a Millennium Garden which includes a musical, sensory and geological garden area.
